Artist Statement

My artwork is an ongoing investigation into the mechanics of visual perception and the emotional weight of color. Working primarily with acrylics, I build distinct, vibrant layers that play with light, shadow, and geometric harmony. I view each canvas as a visual puzzle, inviting the human mind to connect shapes and patterns in unique, unpredictable ways.

This exploration has led me to a concept I call Apofriendia—a playful spin on the scientific term apophenia, which is our natural tendency to find meaningful connections in random patterns. Much like a Rorschach inkblot test, my paintings allow hidden forms to slowly reveal themselves to the viewer over time. Shadows and colors coalesce into personal narratives, bridging abstract forms with the viewer’s own subconscious memories and lived experiences.

Ultimately, my work serves as a collaborative sandbox between myself and the observer. Rather than dictating a fixed storyline, I intentionally leave the interpretation open-ended. Each piece is designed to shift and evolve, responding dynamically to the unique mood, history, and perspective that every individual collector brings to the canvas.
