The Hidden Stuff
Sometimes the interesting stuff gets lost among all the stuff you see at first
“Up The Long Delirious Burning Blue” is a painting filled with “stuff”. So much stuff, it is hard to find a focal point.
When the artist saw it he realized that most people would say “Oh! Way too busy, what am I supposed to be seeing?” …and then move on. Most people are quick to stamp a label on things. “Oh! That’s something!” or “Wow!” as they encounter something wonderful. We are just as quick to identify things the other way too. We say, “Nope… not interested, what’s that supposed to be anyway?”
Modern culture has programmed us that way.
But real “Art Appreciation” takes an investment of time. Can you take the time to find all these small gems in the painting below it? The artist gave them names for reference, but you can find your own meaning and create your own names.
You can zoom in and out and scroll around in your effort to spot the matches.
Here below is the painting, “Up The Long Delirious Burning Blue.” It is 48″x30″ acrylic on gallery wrap canvas, painted in 2014.
See if you can find where the smaller images above are hiding.
